1. Abraham took another wife, whose name was Keturah.
2. She bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.
3. Jokshan became the father of Sheba and Dedan. The descendants of Dedan were the Asshurim, the Letushim, and the Leummim.
4. The sons of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were descendants of Keturah.
5. Abraham gave everything he owned to Isaac.
6. But to the sons of his concubines Abraham gave gifts, and while he was still living he sent them away from his son Isaac, eastward to the land of the east.
7. These are the years of Abraham’s life: he lived 175 years.

23. Yahweh said to her, “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you will be divided; one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger.”
24. When her time came to give birth, there were twins in her womb.
25. The first came out red, his whole body like a hairy cloak, so they named him Esau.
26. After that his brother came out with his hand gripping Esau’s heel, so he was named Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she gave birth to them.
27. When the boys grew up, Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the open country, while Jacob was a quiet man who stayed among the tents.
28. Isaac loved Esau because he had a taste for wild game, but Rebekah loved Jacob.
29. Once when Jacob was cooking stew, Esau came in from the open country, exhausted.
30. Esau said to Jacob, “Let me gulp down some of that red stuff, that red stuff, because I am exhausted!” That is why he was called Edom.
31. Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright right now.”
32. Esau said, “Look, I am about to die. What good is a birthright to me?”
33. Jacob said, “Swear to me right now.” So he swore an oath to him and sold his birthright to Jacob.
34. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew. He ate and drank, got up, and went away. So Esau despised his birthright.
