1. This is the written account of Adam’s descendants. On the day God created man, he made him in the likeness of God.
2. He created them male and female, and he blessed them and named them Man on the day they were created.
3. When Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, according to his image, and named him Seth.
4. After Adam fathered Seth, he lived eight hundred years, and he fathered sons and daughters.
5. So all the days that Adam lived were 930 years, and then he died.

28. When Lamech had lived 182 years, he fathered a son.
29. He named him Noah, saying, “This one will give us relief from our work and from the painful toil of our hands, because of the ground that Yahweh has cursed.”
30. After Lamech fathered Noah, he lived 595 years, and he fathered sons and daughters.
31. So all the days of Lamech were 777 years, and then he died.
32. When Noah was five hundred years old, he fathered Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
