Lumin’s own translation, drafted with AI from the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, checked verse by verse against them, and approved by Lumin. Brackets mark verses not found in the earliest manuscripts.

1. For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it.
2. For if the message spoken through angels proved reliable, and every violation and disobedience received a just penalty,
3. how will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? This salvation was first announced by the Lord, and it was confirmed to us by those who heard him,
4. while God also testified to it by signs and wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.
5. For it was not to angels that God subjected the world to come, which we are speaking about.
6. Instead, someone has testified somewhere, “What is a human being, that you remember him, or a son of man, that you care for him?
7. You made him lower than the angels for a little while; you crowned him with glory and honor,
8. and put everything in subjection under his feet.” Now in putting everything in subjection to him, God left nothing that is not subject to him. At present, however, we do not yet see everything subject to him.
9. But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
10. For it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
11. For the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters,
12. when he says, “I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the middle of the assembly I will sing your praise.”
13. And again, “I will put my trust in him.” And again, “Here I am, and the children God has given me.”
14. Since the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise shared in the same things, so that through death he might destroy the one who holds the power of death, that is, the devil,
15. and set free all those who were held in slavery all their lives by their fear of death.
16. For surely it is not angels he helps, but he helps the descendants of Abraham.
17. This is why he had to be made like his brothers and sisters in every way, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.
18. Because he himself suffered when he was tested, he is able to help those who are being tested.
