Lumin’s own translation, drafted with AI from the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, checked verse by verse against them, and approved by Lumin. Brackets mark verses not found in the earliest manuscripts.

1. Yahweh said to me, “Take a large tablet and write on it in ordinary letters: Belonging to Maher-shalal-hash-baz.”
2. So I called in reliable witnesses to testify for me, Uriah the priest and Zechariah son of Jeberechiah.
3. Then I went to the prophetess, and she conceived and gave birth to a son. Yahweh said to me, “Name him Maher-shalal-hash-baz.
4. For before the boy knows how to say ‘My father’ or ‘My mother,’ the wealth of Damascus and the plunder of Samaria will be carried off before the king of Assyria.”
5. Yahweh spoke to me again:
6. “Because this people has rejected the gently flowing waters of Shiloah and rejoices over Rezin and the son of Remaliah,
7. therefore look, the Lord is about to bring up against them the mighty, abundant waters of the River—the king of Assyria and all his glory. It will rise over all its channels and overflow all its banks.
8. It will sweep on into Judah, flooding and passing through, reaching up to the neck. Its outspread wings will fill the breadth of your land, Immanuel.”
9. Raise the war cry, you peoples, and be shattered! Listen, all you distant lands! Arm yourselves, and be shattered! Arm yourselves, and be shattered!
10. Make your plans, but they will be thwarted; give your orders, but they will not stand, for God is with us.
11. For this is what Yahweh said to me, with his strong hand on me, warning me not to walk in the way of this people:
12. “Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls conspiracy. Do not fear what they fear, and do not be terrified.
13. Yahweh of Armies is the one you are to regard as holy. He is the one you are to fear; he is the one you are to dread.
14. He will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Israel he will be a stone to strike against and a rock to stumble over, a trap and a snare for those who live in Jerusalem.
15. Many will stumble over them; they will fall and be broken; they will be snared and captured.”
16. Bind up the testimony; seal the instruction among my disciples.
17. I will wait for Yahweh, who is hiding his face from the house of Jacob; I will put my hope in him.
18. Here am I, and the children Yahweh has given me. We are signs and portents in Israel from Yahweh of Armies, who dwells on Mount Zion.
19. When people say to you, “Consult the mediums and the spiritists, who chirp and mutter,” should not a people consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?
20. To the instruction and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, they have no dawn.
21. They will pass through the land, hard-pressed and hungry. When they are famished, they will become enraged and curse their king and their God. They will look upward,
22. then look to the earth, and there will be only distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish; and they will be thrust into thick darkness.
