Lumin’s own translation, drafted with AI from the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, checked verse by verse against them, and approved by Lumin. Brackets mark verses not found in the earliest manuscripts.

1. Then Yahweh said to me, “Even if Moses and Samuel stood before me, my heart would not turn toward this people. Send them away from my presence, and let them go!
2. And when they ask you, ‘Where should we go?’ tell them: This is what Yahweh says: Those destined for death, to death; those destined for the sword, to the sword; those destined for famine, to famine; and those destined for captivity, to captivity.
3. I will appoint over them four kinds of destroyers, declares Yahweh: the sword to kill, the dogs to drag away, and the birds of the sky and the animals of the earth to devour and destroy.
4. I will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth because of what Manasseh son of Hezekiah, king of Judah, did in Jerusalem.
5. Who will have pity on you, Jerusalem? Who will grieve for you? Who will turn aside to ask how you are?
6. You have rejected me, declares Yahweh; you keep going backward. So I have stretched out my hand against you and destroyed you; I am tired of relenting.
7. I have winnowed them with a winnowing fork at the gates of the land. I have bereaved them of children; I have destroyed my people, for they did not turn back from their ways.
8. I have made their widows more numerous than the sand of the seas. At noon I have brought a destroyer against the mothers of young men; I have suddenly brought anguish and terror upon them.
9. The mother of seven grows faint; she breathes out her life. Her sun has set while it is still day; she is shamed and disgraced. And the rest of them I will give to the sword before their enemies, declares Yahweh.”
10. Woe to me, my mother, that you gave birth to me, a man of strife and contention to the whole land! I have not lent, and no one has lent to me, yet every one of them curses me.
11. Yahweh said, “Surely I will set you free for good; surely I will make the enemy plead with you in the time of disaster and in the time of distress.
12. Can anyone break iron—iron from the north—or bronze?
13. Your wealth and your treasures I will give as plunder, without price, because of all your sins throughout all your territory.
14. I will make you go with your enemies into a land you do not know, for a fire has been kindled by my anger, and it will burn against you.”
15. You know, Yahweh; remember me and take care of me, and avenge me on my persecutors. In your patience do not take me away; know that for your sake I bear reproach.
16. When your words were found, I ate them, and your word became my joy and my heart’s delight, for I am called by your name, Yahweh, God of Armies.
17. I did not sit in the company of those who make merry, nor did I rejoice. Because your hand was on me, I sat alone, for you had filled me with indignation.
18. Why is my pain unending and my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? Will you truly be to me like a deceptive brook, like waters that cannot be relied on?
19. Therefore this is what Yahweh says: “If you return, I will restore you, and you will stand before me. If you utter what is precious and not what is worthless, you will be my mouth. Let them turn to you, but you must not turn to them.
20. I will make you a fortified wall of bronze to this people. They will fight against you, but they will not overcome you, for I am with you to save you and rescue you, declares Yahweh.
21. I will rescue you from the hand of the wicked and redeem you from the grasp of the ruthless.”
