Lumin’s own translation, drafted with AI from the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, checked verse by verse against them, and approved by Lumin. Brackets mark verses not found in the earliest manuscripts.

1. Yahweh spoke to Moses:
2. “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: When anyone makes a special vow to Yahweh involving the valuation of persons,
3. the valuation of a male from twenty to sixty years old is to be fifty shekels of silver, by the sanctuary shekel.
4. If it is a female, the valuation is to be thirty shekels.
5. If the person is from five to twenty years old, the valuation is to be twenty shekels for a male and ten shekels for a female.
6. If the person is from one month to five years old, the valuation is to be five shekels of silver for a male and three shekels of silver for a female.
7. If the person is sixty years old or more, the valuation is to be fifteen shekels for a male and ten shekels for a female.
8. If the one making the vow is too poor to pay the valuation, the person is to be presented before the priest, and the priest will set a value for him. The priest is to set the value according to what the one who made the vow can afford.
9. If the vow involves an animal of the kind that is presented as an offering to Yahweh, any such animal given to Yahweh becomes holy.
10. He must not exchange it or substitute another for it, a good one for a bad one or a bad one for a good one. If he does substitute one animal for another, both the animal and its substitute will be holy.
11. If it is any unclean animal, one that is not presented as an offering to Yahweh, the animal must be presented before the priest,
12. and the priest is to set its value, whether good or bad. As the priest values it, so it will be.
13. If the owner wants to redeem it, he must add a fifth to its valuation.
14. If someone consecrates his house as holy to Yahweh, the priest is to set its value, whether good or bad. As the priest values it, so it will stand.
15. If the one who consecrated his house wants to redeem it, he must add a fifth to the valuation price, and it will be his again.
16. If someone consecrates to Yahweh part of a field that is his family property, its valuation is to be according to the seed needed for it: fifty shekels of silver for a homer of barley seed.
17. If he consecrates his field starting from the year of Jubilee, the full valuation stands.
18. But if he consecrates his field after the Jubilee, the priest is to calculate the price for him according to the years remaining until the year of Jubilee, and it is to be deducted from the valuation.
19. If the one who consecrated the field wants to redeem it, he must add a fifth to the valuation price, and it will be his again.
20. But if he does not redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to someone else, it can no longer be redeemed.
21. When the field is released in the Jubilee, it will be holy to Yahweh, like a field that has been devoted; it will become the priest’s property.
22. If someone consecrates to Yahweh a field he has bought, which is not part of his family property,
23. the priest is to calculate for him the amount of the valuation up to the year of Jubilee, and he must pay the valuation on that day as something holy to Yahweh.
24. In the year of Jubilee the field will return to the one from whom it was bought, the one to whom the land belongs as family property.
25. Every valuation is to be by the sanctuary shekel, twenty gerahs to the shekel.
26. But no one may consecrate a firstborn animal, since as a firstborn it already belongs to Yahweh. Whether it is an ox or a sheep, it is Yahweh’s.
27. If it is an unclean animal, he may redeem it at its valuation, adding a fifth to it. If it is not redeemed, it is to be sold at its valuation.
28. But nothing that a person devotes to Yahweh from all that he owns, whether a human being, an animal, or a field of his family property, may be sold or redeemed. Everything devoted is most holy to Yahweh.
29. No human being who has been devoted to destruction may be ransomed; that person must be put to death.
30. Every tithe of the land, whether of grain from the ground or fruit from the trees, belongs to Yahweh; it is holy to Yahweh.
31. If anyone wants to redeem any of his tithe, he must add a fifth to it.
32. Every tithe of the herd and flock, every tenth animal that passes under the rod, is to be holy to Yahweh.
33. He must not pick out the good from the bad, and he must not make a substitute for it. If he does make a substitute, both the animal and its substitute will be holy; they cannot be redeemed.”
34. These are the commandments that Yahweh gave Moses for the Israelites on Mount Sinai.
