1. Whoever isolates himself pursues his own desires; he breaks out against all sound judgment.

16. A person’s gift opens the way for him and brings him before the great.
17. The first to state his case seems right, until the other comes and questions him.
18. The lot puts an end to disputes and separates powerful opponents.
19. An offended brother is harder to win than a strong city, and disputes are like the bars of a fortress.
20. A person’s stomach is filled with the fruit of his mouth; he is satisfied with the harvest of his lips.
21. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
22. Whoever finds a wife finds something good and obtains favor from Yahweh.
23. The poor person pleads for mercy, but the rich one answers harshly.
24. A person with many companions may be brought to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
