*A song of ascents.*

1. I raise my eyes toward the mountains. Where will my help come from?
2. My help is from Yahweh, the one who made heaven and earth.
3. He will not let your foot give way; your guardian will not doze.
4. See, the guardian of Israel will not doze and will not sleep.
5. Yahweh is your guardian; Yahweh is your shade at your right side.
6. By day the sun will not strike you, nor will the moon at night.
7. Yahweh will guard you against every evil; he will guard your soul.
8. Yahweh will guard you as you go out and as you come in, from this moment on and forever.
