*For the choir director. A psalm of David.*

1. How long, Yahweh? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
2. How long must I turn over plans in my soul and carry sorrow in my heart all day? How long will my enemy be exalted over me?
3. Look at me and answer me, Yahweh my God! Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,
4. and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice because I am shaken.
5. But I trust in your steadfast love; my heart will rejoice in your salvation.
6. I will sing to Yahweh, for he has been good to me.
