*For the choir director. According to the gittith. A psalm of David.*

1. Yahweh our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your splendor above the heavens.
2. From the mouths of children and nursing infants you have laid a foundation of strength on account of your adversaries, to put a stop to the enemy and the avenger.
3. When I gaze at your heavens, which your fingers made, at the moon and the stars you fixed in their places,
4. what is a human being that you remember him, a son of man that you care for him?
5. You have made him a little less than God and crowned him with glory and majesty.
6. You have made him ruler over the works of your hands; you have put everything under his feet:
7. all sheep and cattle, and the wild animals too,
8. the birds of the sky and the fish of the sea, everything that moves along the pathways of the seas.
9. Yahweh our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
