Lumin’s own translation, drafted with AI from the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, checked verse by verse against them, and approved by Lumin. Brackets mark verses not found in the earliest manuscripts.

1. So then, now that we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
2. Through him we have also gained entrance by faith into this grace in which we now stand, and we boast in the hope of God’s glory.
3. And not only this: we also boast in our afflictions, since we know that affliction brings about endurance,
4. endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.
5. And this hope does not leave us ashamed, since the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
6. For while we were still helpless, Christ died for the ungodly at the appointed time.
7. Indeed, it is rare for anyone to die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly be brave enough to die.
8. But God makes his own love for us plain: Christ died for us when we were still sinners.
9. So, since we have now been justified by his blood, all the more surely will we be saved through him from wrath.
10. For if, at a time when we were enemies, God reconciled us to himself through the death of his Son, then all the more surely, now that we are reconciled, will we be saved by his life.
11. And not only this: we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received this reconciliation.
12. For this reason, just as sin came into the world by way of one man, and death by way of sin, and in this way death reached all human beings, because all sinned—
13. for sin was in the world up until the law, but sin is not charged to anyone’s account when there is no law.
14. Nevertheless, death reigned all the way from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sin did not take the form of Adam’s transgression. Adam is a figure of the one who was to come.
15. The gift of grace, however, is not like the trespass. For if the many died because of the one man’s trespass, then God’s grace, and the gift given in the grace of the one man Jesus Christ, have overflowed to the many all the more.
16. Nor is the gift like what resulted from the one who sinned. For the judgment arose from a single trespass and ended in condemnation, but the gift of grace arose from many trespasses and ended in justification.
17. For if by the trespass of the one, death reigned through that one, then all the more will those who receive grace in overflowing measure and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ.
18. Consequently, just as condemnation came to all people through one trespass, so too through one righteous act a justification that brings life comes to all people.
19. For just as the disobedience of one man made the many sinners, in the same way the obedience of the one will make the many righteous.
20. The law entered the picture so that the trespass would grow. But where sin grew, grace overflowed far beyond it,
21. so that, as sin reigned in death, grace too would reign through righteousness, resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
