When a quick reply isn’t enough — The Counsel

Some questions need more than a few sentences. The Counsel answers them with a slower, Scripture-cited letter you can keep and read again. It comes with Lumin+. It is a companion for hard questions, not a replacement for a pastor or counselor.

What The Counsel is

You bring a question that won’t fit in a quick reply — grief that hasn’t lifted, a decision with no clean answer, a doubt you have carried for years. The Counsel takes its time and writes back: a letter grounded in Scripture, with every passage cited so you can read it for yourself.

The letter stays in the app. Come back to it next week or next year, when the question returns.

The Counsel is included with Lumin+, along with higher daily limits; subscription support lists everything in the plan. The current App Store description does not name The Counsel in its feature list, but the feature first shipped in version 3.11.0 (June 2026) and is part of Lumin+ today.

Two speeds

Counsel vs Ask

Ask gives you a short answer grounded in Scripture you can open, and one next step. It’s free, and it’s where most questions should start.

The Counsel is for the heavier ones — a longer letter you can return to, not a chat reply you scroll past. It has more room, and it is still not a pastor.

Part of Lumin+

Lumin+ — secondary to the four pillars

Lumin is built around four everyday practices: Ask, Bible Coach, Pray, and Sermon Week. You can use all of them for free. The Counsel is an extra for harder questions, included with Lumin+ along with higher daily limits.

Plan names, prices, trial eligibility, usage limits, and taxes appear in the App Store before you confirm any purchase, and the purchase screen lists everything Lumin+ includes.

Still a companion

Still not God, prophet, pastor, or counselor

A longer answer is still an AI answer. It carries no spiritual authority, and it can’t replace Scripture, your church, your pastor, or professional care. Read The Counsel with that in mind.

The Covenant is blunt about it: Lumin will not speak for God, stand in for your church, settle every disagreement, or turn a crisis into content. If you or someone you love is in immediate danger, facing abuse, or in a medical emergency, reach out to real people and emergency services now. A letter from an app is not the help you need.
