Lumin Translation
2 Corinthians 2
Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made
1So I made up my mind not to come to you again in sorrow.
2For if I cause you sorrow, who is there to make me glad except the very one I have grieved?
3I wrote this very thing so that when I came I would not be grieved by those who ought to make me rejoice, for I am confident about all of you that my joy is the joy of you all.
4For I wrote to you out of great affliction and anguish of heart and with many tears, not to grieve you but to let you know the love that I have so abundantly for you.
5Now if anyone has caused grief, he has not grieved me, but to some extent—not to put it too severely—he has grieved all of you.
6For such a person this punishment by the majority is enough,
7so now, instead, you should forgive and comfort him, or he may be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.
8So I urge you to reaffirm your love for him.
9This is also why I wrote: to test you and know whether you are obedient in everything.
10Anyone you forgive, I forgive too. Indeed, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven for your sake in the presence of Christ,
11so that we would not be outwitted by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes.
12When I came to Troas to proclaim the gospel of Christ, even though a door stood open for me in the Lord,
13I had no rest in my spirit, because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I said goodbye to them and went on to Macedonia.
14But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.
15For we are the sweet aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing:
16to the one, a fragrance from death to death; to the other, a fragrance from life to life. And who is qualified for these things?
17For we are not like so many, who peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, we speak in Christ as people of sincerity, as people sent from God, standing in the presence of God.
