Lumin Translation
Acts 3
Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made
Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
A man who had been lame from birth was being carried there. Every day they would put him at the temple gate called Beautiful, so that he could beg from the people going into the temple.
When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked them for money.
Peter looked straight at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.”
So he paid attention to them, expecting to get something from them.
But Peter said, “I do not have silver or gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!”
Then he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and at once his feet and ankles became strong.
He jumped up, stood, and began to walk, and he went into the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.
All the people saw him walking and praising God,
and they recognized him as the man who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. They were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
While he was holding on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the colonnade called Solomon’s, utterly astonished.
When Peter saw this, he said to the people, “Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this, or why do you stare at us as though we had made him walk by our own power or godliness?
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our ancestors, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over and disowned him before Pilate, even though Pilate had decided to release him.
You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be released to you.
You killed the Author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.
By faith in his name, his name has made strong this man whom you see and know. The faith that comes through Jesus has given him this complete health in front of all of you.
And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as your rulers did too.
But this is how God fulfilled what he had announced beforehand through the mouth of all the prophets, that his Messiah would suffer.
So repent and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped away, and so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
and he may send the Messiah appointed for you, Jesus.
Heaven must receive him until the time for restoring all the things that God spoke about long ago through the mouth of his holy prophets.
Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to him in everything he tells you.
Anyone who does not listen to that prophet will be completely cut off from the people.’
And all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those who came after him, also announced these days.
You are the children of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your ancestors when he said to Abraham, ‘And in your offspring all the families of the earth will be blessed.’
God raised up his servant and sent him first to you, to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”
