Jonah 2
Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made
Then Jonah prayed to Yahweh his God from the belly of the fish.
He said, “In my distress I called to Yahweh, and he answered me. From the belly of Sheol I cried for help, and you heard my voice.
You hurled me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the current swirled around me; all your breakers and your waves swept over me.
Then I said, ‘I have been driven away from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.’
The waters closed in over me to take my life; the deep surrounded me; seaweed was wrapped around my head.
I went down to the roots of the mountains; the earth with its bars closed behind me forever. But you brought my life up from the pit, Yahweh my God.
As my life was ebbing away, I remembered Yahweh, and my prayer came to you, into your holy temple.
Those who cling to worthless idols forsake their loyalty.
But I, with a voice of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to you; what I have vowed I will pay. Salvation belongs to Yahweh!”
Then Yahweh spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah out onto the dry land.
