Mark 16

Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made

Once the Sabbath had ended, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought aromatic spices in order to go and anoint him.

They came to the tomb very early on the first day of the week, at sunrise.

They kept asking each other, “Who is going to roll the stone away from the tomb’s entrance for us?”

When they looked up, they could see that the stone had been rolled back, for it was enormous.

Going into the tomb, they saw a young man in a white robe sitting on the right, and they were terribly alarmed.

He said to them, “Do not be so alarmed. You are seeking Jesus the Nazarene, the one who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, here is the place where they laid him.

Now go, tell his disciples, and Peter too, that he is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there, as he told you.”

So they came out and ran away from the tomb, because shaking and amazement had taken hold of them. They did not say a thing to anyone, because they were afraid.

[Jesus rose early on the first day of the week and appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had expelled seven demons.]

[She went and brought the news to his companions, who were grieving and weeping.]

[Hearing that he was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.]

[Later he showed himself in another form to two of them while they were walking, on their way out to the countryside.]

[They returned and told the others, and no one believed them either.]

[Afterward he revealed himself to the Eleven as they reclined at the table, and he reproached them for their unbelief and their hard hearts, since they had not believed the people who had seen him after he was raised.]

[He told them, “Go out into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to all of creation.]

[Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved, but anyone who disbelieves will be condemned.]

[The following signs will go with those who believe: they will expel demons in my name; they will speak in new tongues;]

[they will take up snakes; if they drink something deadly, it will do them no harm at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and those people will recover.”]

[So after speaking with them, the Lord was taken up into heaven and took his seat at the right hand of God.]

[They went out and proclaimed the message everywhere, and the Lord kept working with them and confirming the word through the signs that came with it. Amen.]
