Nehemiah 7
Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made
When the wall had been rebuilt and I had set up the doors, and the gatekeepers, the singers, and the Levites had been appointed,
I put my brother Hanani in charge of Jerusalem, along with Hananiah the commander of the citadel, for he was a faithful man and feared God more than most.
I said to them, “The gates of Jerusalem are not to be opened until the sun is hot. While the guards are still on duty, have them shut the doors and bar them. Appoint guards from among the inhabitants of Jerusalem, each at his post and each opposite his own house.”
The city was wide and large, but there were few people in it, and no houses had been rebuilt.
Then my God put it into my heart to gather the nobles, the officials, and the people to be registered by genealogy. I found the genealogical record of those who had come up first, and I found written in it:
These are the people of the province who came up out of the captivity of the exile, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had carried into exile. They returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his own town.
They came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, and Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:

The following came up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer, but they could not prove that their ancestral houses and their descent were from Israel:

And from among the priests: the descendants of Hobaiah, Hakkoz, and Barzillai, who had married one of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite and was called by their name.
These men searched for their records among those registered by genealogy, but they could not be found, so they were barred from the priesthood as unclean.
The governor told them not to eat any of the most holy food until a priest arose who could consult the Urim and Thummim.
The whole assembly together numbered 42,360,
besides their male and female servants, who numbered 7,337; and they had two hundred male and female singers.
Their horses numbered 736, their mules 245,
their camels 435, and their donkeys 6,720.
Some of the heads of the ancestral houses gave to the work. The governor gave to the treasury a thousand gold darics, fifty basins, and 530 priestly garments.
Some of the heads of the ancestral houses gave to the treasury for the work twenty thousand gold darics and 2,200 silver minas.
What the rest of the people gave was twenty thousand gold darics, two thousand silver minas, and sixty-seven priestly garments.
So the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, some of the people, the temple servants, and all Israel settled in their towns. When the seventh month came, the people of Israel were in their towns.
