2 Chronicles 5
Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made
1So all the work that Solomon did for the house of Yahweh was completed. Then Solomon brought in the things his father David had dedicated—the silver, the gold, and all the articles—and put them in the treasuries of the house of God.
2Then Solomon assembled in Jerusalem the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the leaders of the ancestral houses of the Israelites, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh from the city of David, which is Zion.
3All the men of Israel assembled before the king at the festival in the seventh month.
4When all the elders of Israel had come, the Levites took up the ark.
5They brought up the ark, the tent of meeting, and all the holy utensils that were in the tent; the Levitical priests brought them up.
6King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel who had gathered with him before the ark were sacrificing so many sheep and cattle that they could not be counted or numbered.
7Then the priests brought the ark of the covenant of Yahweh to its place, in the inner sanctuary of the house, in the Most Holy Place, beneath the wings of the cherubim.
8The cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim formed a covering above the ark and its poles.
9The poles were so long that their ends could be seen from the ark in front of the inner sanctuary, but they could not be seen from outside. It is there to this day.
10There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets that Moses put there at Horeb, where Yahweh made a covenant with the Israelites when they came out of Egypt.
11When the priests came out of the Holy Place—for all the priests who were present had consecrated themselves, without keeping to their divisions,
12and all the Levites who were singers, Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun and their sons and relatives, dressed in fine linen, with cymbals, harps, and lyres, were standing east of the altar, and with them 120 priests blowing trumpets—
13the trumpeters and the singers joined as one to make a single sound heard in praising and thanking Yahweh. When they raised the sound with trumpets, cymbals, and other musical instruments and praised Yahweh, “For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever,” the house, the house of Yahweh, was filled with a cloud,
14and the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of Yahweh filled the house of God.
