Jeremiah 47
Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made
1This is the word of Yahweh that came to the prophet Jeremiah concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh struck Gaza.
2This is what Yahweh says: Look, waters are rising from the north; they will become an overflowing torrent. They will flood the land and everything in it, the cities and those who live in them. People will cry out, and everyone who lives in the land will wail
3at the sound of the pounding hooves of his stallions, at the rumbling of his chariots and the clatter of their wheels. Fathers will not turn back for their children, because their hands hang limp,
4because the day has come to destroy all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every survivor who could help. For Yahweh is destroying the Philistines, the remnant from the coastland of Caphtor.
5Baldness has come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is silenced. Remnant of their valley, how long will you gash yourselves?
6Ah, sword of Yahweh, how long until you are quiet? Go back into your sheath; rest and be still.
7But how can you be quiet when Yahweh has given it orders? Against Ashkelon and against the seacoast, there he has appointed it.
