Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made
Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, along with cedar logs, stonemasons, and carpenters to build him a house.
David knew that Yahweh had established him as king over Israel, for his kingdom had been highly exalted for the sake of his people Israel.
David took more wives in Jerusalem, and David fathered more sons and daughters.
These are the names of the children born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,
Ibhar, Elishua, Elpelet,
Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,
Elishama, Beeliada, and Eliphelet.
When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to search for David. David heard about it and went out against them.
The Philistines had come and made a raid in the Valley of Rephaim.
David asked God, “Should I go up against the Philistines? Will you give them into my hand?” Yahweh said to him, “Go up, and I will give them into your hand.”
So they went up to Baal-perazim, and David struck them down there. David said, “God has broken through my enemies by my hand, like waters bursting through.” That is why they named that place Baal-perazim.
The Philistines left their gods there, and David gave the order, and they were burned with fire.
Once again the Philistines made a raid in the valley.
So David asked God again, and God said to him, “Do not go up after them. Circle around away from them and come against them in front of the balsam trees.
When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then go out to battle, for God has gone out ahead of you to strike down the army of the Philistines.”
David did as God commanded him, and they struck down the army of the Philistines from Gibeon to Gezer.
David’s fame spread through all the lands, and Yahweh made all the nations afraid of him.
