Lumin Translation
Chronicles 22
Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made
Then David said, “This is the house of Yahweh God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”
David gave orders to gather the foreigners who were in the land of Israel, and he appointed stonecutters to cut dressed stones for building the house of God.
David provided a great quantity of iron for nails for the doors of the gates and for clamps, and more bronze than could be weighed,
and cedar logs beyond counting, for the Sidonians and the Tyrians had brought great quantities of cedar to David.
David said, “My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for Yahweh must be exceedingly magnificent, famous and glorious throughout all lands. So I will make preparations for it.” So David made extensive preparations before his death.
Then he called for his son Solomon and charged him to build a house for Yahweh, the God of Israel.
David said to Solomon, “My son, I had it in my heart to build a house for the name of Yahweh my God.
But the word of Yahweh came to me: ‘You have shed much blood and have fought great wars. You are not to build a house for my name, because you have shed so much blood on the earth before me.
Look, a son will be born to you who will be a man of rest. I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side. His name will be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel in his days.
He is the one who will build a house for my name. He will be my son, and I will be his father, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’
Now, my son, may Yahweh be with you, so that you may succeed in building the house of Yahweh your God, as he has said you would.
Only may Yahweh give you insight and understanding when he puts you in charge of Israel, so that you may keep the law of Yahweh your God.
Then you will succeed, if you are careful to carry out the statutes and ordinances that Yahweh commanded Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged.
Look, with great effort I have provided for the house of Yahweh a hundred thousand talents of gold, a million talents of silver, and more bronze and iron than can be weighed, for there is so much of it. I have also provided timber and stone, and you may add to them.
You also have many workers: stonecutters, masons, carpenters, and every kind of person skilled in every kind of work
in gold, silver, bronze, and iron, beyond counting. Now get to work, and may Yahweh be with you.”
David also commanded all the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon:
“Is not Yahweh your God with you? Has he not given you rest on every side? For he has handed over the inhabitants of the land to me, and the land is subdued before Yahweh and before his people.
Now set your heart and soul to seek Yahweh your God. Get up and build the sanctuary of Yahweh God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of Yahweh and the holy articles of God into the house that is to be built for the name of Yahweh.”
