Corinthians 6
Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made
When one of you has a dispute with another, does he dare to take it to court before the unrighteous instead of before the saints?
Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you not competent to try the smallest cases?
Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more, then, the matters of this life!
So if you have cases about the matters of this life, do you appoint as judges those who have no standing in the church?
I say this to your shame. Is there really no one among you wise enough to settle a dispute between one brother or sister and another?
Instead, one brother or sister takes another to court, and does it before unbelievers!
The very fact that you have lawsuits with one another is already a complete defeat for you. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?
Instead, you yourselves do wrong and cheat, and you do it to your brothers and sisters!
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who submit to sex with men, nor men who have sex with men,
nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
All things are permitted for me, but not all things are helpful. All things are permitted for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.
Food is meant for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will do away with both one and the other. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power.
Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Should I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Certainly not!
Or do you not know that whoever is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”
But whoever is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him.
Flee from sexual immorality. Every sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You do not belong to yourselves,
for you were purchased at a price. So bring glory to God in your body.
