Lumin Translation
Genesis 2
Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made
So the heavens and the earth were completed, and all the multitudes in them.
On the seventh day God completed the work that he had done, and on the seventh day he rested from all the work that he had done.
God blessed the seventh day and set it apart as holy, because on that day he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.
This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, on the day that Yahweh God made the earth and the heavens.
No shrub of the field was on the earth yet, and no plant of the field had come up yet, because Yahweh God had not made it rain on the earth, and there was no human being to till the ground.
But a spring would rise up from the earth and water the whole surface of the ground.
Then Yahweh God shaped the man out of dust from the ground and blew the breath of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living being.
Yahweh God planted a garden in Eden, toward the east, and there he set the man he had formed.
Out of the ground Yahweh God made every tree grow that was desirable to look at and good for food, with the tree of life in the middle of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
A river ran out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it split and became four headstreams.
The first is named Pishon. It is the river that winds around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold.
The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin and onyx stone are found there.
The second river is named Gihon. It is the river that winds around the whole land of Cush.
The third river is named the Tigris. It is the river that runs east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates.
Yahweh God took the man and settled him in the garden of Eden to tend it and watch over it.
Yahweh God commanded the man, “You may freely eat from every tree in the garden,
but as for the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, do not eat from it, because on the day you eat from it you are sure to die.”
Then Yahweh God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper who is his counterpart.”
From the ground Yahweh God formed every wild animal and every bird of the sky, and he brought each to the man to find out what he would call it. Whatever name the man gave to each living creature became its name.
The man named all the livestock, the birds of the sky, and every wild animal, but for Adam no helper was found who was his counterpart.
So Yahweh God brought a deep sleep over the man, and he fell asleep. Then he took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh where it had been.
Then Yahweh God built the rib that he had taken from the man into a woman, and he brought her to the man.
The man said, “At last this one is bone from my bones and flesh from my flesh; this one will be called Woman, for this one was taken from Man.”
That is why a man leaves his father and his mother and clings to his wife, and they become one flesh.
The two of them, the man and his wife, were naked, yet they felt no shame.
