Deuteronomy 10

Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made

At that time Yahweh said to me, ‘Cut two stone tablets like the first ones, and come up to me on the mountain. Also make yourself a wooden ark.

I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke, and you are to put them in the ark.’

So I made an ark of acacia wood, cut two stone tablets like the first ones, and went up the mountain with the two tablets in my hand.

He wrote on the tablets, as in the first writing, the Ten Commandments that Yahweh had spoken to you on the mountain out of the fire on the day of the assembly, and Yahweh gave them to me.

Then I turned and came down from the mountain and put the tablets in the ark I had made, and they are there, as Yahweh commanded me.

(The Israelites set out from Beeroth Bene-jaakan to Moserah. There Aaron died, and there he was buried, and his son Eleazar served as priest in his place.

From there they set out to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of flowing streams.)

At that time Yahweh set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, to stand before Yahweh to serve him, and to bless in his name, as they do to this day.

That is why Levi has no share or inheritance among his brothers. Yahweh is his inheritance, as Yahweh your God told him.

I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights, as I had the first time, and Yahweh listened to me that time also. Yahweh was not willing to destroy you.

Then Yahweh said to me, ‘Get up and set out at the head of the people, so that they may go in and take possession of the land that I swore to their ancestors to give them.’

And now, Israel, what does Yahweh your God ask of you but to fear Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, and to serve Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

and to keep the commandments and statutes of Yahweh that I am giving you today for your own good?

The heavens, even the highest heavens, belong to Yahweh your God, and so do the earth and everything in it.

Yet Yahweh set his heart on your ancestors and loved them, and he chose their descendants after them—you—out of all the peoples, as you see today.

So circumcise the foreskin of your hearts, and do not be stiff-necked any longer.

For Yahweh your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribe.

He secures justice for the fatherless and the widow, and he loves the foreigner, giving him food and clothing.

So you are to love the foreigner, for you yourselves were foreigners in the land of Egypt.

Fear Yahweh your God. Serve him, hold fast to him, and take your oaths in his name.

He is your praise, and he is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome things that your eyes have seen.

Your ancestors went down to Egypt seventy persons in all, and now Yahweh your God has made you as numerous as the stars in the sky.
