Deuteronomy 30
Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made
When all these things have come upon you—the blessing and the curse that I have laid before you—and you think them over in your heart among all the nations where Yahweh your God has banished you,
and you and your children come back to Yahweh your God and listen to his voice in everything I am commanding you today, with all your heart and with all your soul,
then Yahweh your God will bring you back from captivity and have compassion on you. He will once more gather you from among all the peoples where Yahweh your God dispersed you.
Even if your banished ones are at the farthest edge of the sky, Yahweh your God will gather you from there and fetch you from there.
Yahweh your God will bring you into the land that your ancestors held, and you will hold it too. He will do you good and multiply you beyond your ancestors.
Yahweh your God will circumcise your heart and your descendants’ hearts to love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live.
Yahweh your God will lay all these curses on your enemies, the people who hated you and hunted you down.
You, for your part, will turn back and listen to the voice of Yahweh, and carry out all his commandments that I command you today.
Yahweh your God will make you overflow with good things in all you do with your hands, in the fruit of your womb, the fruit of your livestock, and the fruit of your ground. Yahweh will once more take joy in you and do you good, as he took joy in your ancestors,
when you listen to the voice of Yahweh your God and keep his commandments and statutes written in this book of the law, when you come back to Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
For this commandment that I am laying on you today is not too difficult for you, and it is not remote.
It is not in heaven, so that you would say, ‘Who will go up to heaven for us, get it for us, and let us hear it, so that we can carry it out?’
Nor is it across the sea, so that you would say, ‘Who will cross to the far side of the sea for us, get it for us, and let us hear it, so that we can carry it out?’
No, the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, for you to carry out.
See, today I have put before you life and good, death and harm.
If you listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God that I command you today—loving Yahweh your God, walking in his ways, and keeping his commandments, statutes, and ordinances—you will live and multiply, and Yahweh your God will bless you in the land you are going in to possess.
But if your heart turns aside and you do not listen, and you are led astray and bow down to other gods and serve them,
I tell you today that you will certainly be destroyed; your days will not be long on the land you are crossing the Jordan to go in and possess.
Today I summon the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you: I have put life and death before you, the blessing and the curse. Choose life, then, so that you and your descendants may live,
by loving Yahweh your God, listening to his voice, and clinging to him. He is your life and the length of your days, so that you may live on the land Yahweh swore to your ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, that he would give them.”
