Lumin Translation
Exodus 29
Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made
This is what you are to do to consecrate them to serve me as priests. Take one young bull and two rams without defect,
along with bread made without yeast, loaves without yeast mixed with oil, and wafers without yeast spread with oil. Make them from fine wheat flour.
Put them in one basket and present them in the basket, along with the bull and the two rams.
Then bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tent of meeting and wash them with water.
Take the garments and dress Aaron in the tunic, the robe of the ephod, the ephod, and the breastpiece, and tie the skillfully woven waistband of the ephod around him.
Put the turban on his head and place the holy crown on the turban.
Take the anointing oil and pour it on his head to anoint him.
Then bring his sons and dress them in tunics.
Tie sashes around Aaron and his sons, and put headbands on them. The priesthood will be theirs by a permanent statute. So you are to ordain Aaron and his sons.
Bring the bull to the front of the tent of meeting, and Aaron and his sons are to lay their hands on the bull’s head.
Slaughter the bull before Yahweh at the entrance of the tent of meeting.
Take some of the bull’s blood and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and pour out all the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.
Take all the fat that covers the entrails, the lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys with the fat on them, and burn them on the altar.
But burn the bull’s meat, its hide, and its dung outside the camp. It is a sin offering.
Then take one of the rams, and Aaron and his sons are to lay their hands on the ram’s head.
Slaughter the ram, take its blood, and splash it against the altar on all sides.
Cut the ram into pieces, wash its entrails and its legs, and put them with its pieces and its head.
Then burn the whole ram on the altar. It is a burnt offering to Yahweh, a pleasing aroma, a fire offering to Yahweh.
Take the other ram, and Aaron and his sons are to lay their hands on the ram’s head.
Slaughter the ram and take some of its blood and put it on the lobe of Aaron’s right ear and on the lobes of the right ears of his sons, on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet. Then splash the rest of the blood against the altar on all sides.
Take some of the blood that is on the altar and some of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it on Aaron and his garments and on his sons and their garments. Then he and his garments will be holy, and his sons and their garments with him.
Take from the ram the fat, the fat tail, the fat that covers the entrails, the lobe of the liver, the two kidneys with the fat on them, and the right thigh, for this is a ram of ordination.
Also take one round loaf of bread, one loaf of bread made with oil, and one wafer from the basket of bread made without yeast that is before Yahweh.
Put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons, and wave them as a wave offering before Yahweh.
Then take them from their hands and burn them on the altar on top of the burnt offering, as a pleasing aroma before Yahweh. It is a fire offering to Yahweh.
Take the breast of the ram for Aaron’s ordination and wave it as a wave offering before Yahweh. It will be your portion.
Consecrate the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the contribution, the parts of the ram of ordination that are waved and lifted up, from what belongs to Aaron and to his sons.
It is to belong to Aaron and his sons as their permanent share from the Israelites, for it is a contribution. It is to be a contribution from the Israelites from their fellowship offerings, their contribution to Yahweh.
Aaron’s holy garments are to belong to his sons after him, so that they may be anointed and ordained in them.
The son who succeeds him as priest and enters the tent of meeting to minister in the Holy Place is to wear them for seven days.
Take the ram of ordination and boil its meat in a holy place.
At the entrance of the tent of meeting Aaron and his sons are to eat the meat of the ram and the bread that is in the basket.
They are to eat these things by which atonement was made for them at their ordination and consecration. No unauthorized person may eat them, for they are holy.
If any of the meat of the ordination or any of the bread is left over until morning, burn up what is left over. It must not be eaten, because it is holy.
Do this for Aaron and his sons, exactly as I have commanded you. Take seven days to ordain them.
Every day offer a bull as a sin offering to make atonement. Purify the altar by making atonement for it, and anoint it to consecrate it.
For seven days make atonement for the altar and consecrate it. Then the altar will be most holy, and whatever touches the altar will become holy.
This is what you are to offer on the altar: two lambs a year old, every day, continually.
Offer one lamb in the morning and the other lamb at twilight.
With the first lamb offer a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with a quarter of a hin of oil from pressed olives, and a quarter of a hin of wine as a drink offering.
Offer the other lamb at twilight with the same grain offering and drink offering as in the morning, as a pleasing aroma, a fire offering to Yahweh.
This is to be a regular burnt offering throughout your generations at the entrance of the tent of meeting before Yahweh, where I will meet with you to speak to you there.
There I will meet with the Israelites, and the place will be made holy by my glory.
I will consecrate the tent of meeting and the altar, and I will consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve me as priests.
I will dwell among the Israelites and be their God.
They will know that I am Yahweh their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt so that I might dwell among them. I am Yahweh their God.
