Exodus 39

Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made

From the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn they made the woven garments for ministering in the holy place. They also made the holy garments for Aaron, as Yahweh had commanded Moses.

He made the ephod of gold, of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen.

They hammered out thin sheets of gold, and he cut them into threads to work into the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and into the fine linen, the work of a skilled craftsman.

They made shoulder pieces for the ephod, attached to its two ends so that it could be fastened together.

The skillfully woven waistband on it was of one piece with it and made the same way, of gold, of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen, as Yahweh had commanded Moses.

They prepared the onyx stones, mounted in gold settings and engraved like a seal with the names of the sons of Israel.

He fastened them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as stones of remembrance for the sons of Israel, as Yahweh had commanded Moses.

He made the breastpiece, the work of a skilled craftsman, made like the ephod, of gold, of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen.

It was square. They made the breastpiece folded double, a span long and a span wide when folded.

They set four rows of stones on it. The first row was a carnelian, a topaz, and an emerald;

the second row, a turquoise, a sapphire, and a diamond;

the third row, a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;

and the fourth row, a chrysolite, an onyx, and a jasper. They were mounted in gold settings in their places.

There were twelve stones, corresponding to the names of the sons of Israel, each engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes.

For the breastpiece they made braided chains like cords, of pure gold.

They made two gold settings and two gold rings, and they fastened the two rings to the two corners of the breastpiece.

They fastened the two gold cords to the two rings at the corners of the breastpiece.

The other two ends of the two cords they fastened to the two settings, attaching them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front.

They made two gold rings and attached them to the other two corners of the breastpiece, on its inside edge next to the ephod.

They made two more gold rings and attached them to the bottom of the two shoulder pieces on the front of the ephod, close to its seam just above the waistband of the ephod.

They tied the breastpiece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a blue cord, so that it would rest on the waistband of the ephod and the breastpiece would not come loose from the ephod, as Yahweh had commanded Moses.

He made the robe of the ephod, woven entirely of blue yarn, the work of a weaver.

The opening of the robe was in its center, like the opening of a collar, with a binding around the opening so that it would not tear.

On the hem of the robe they made pomegranates of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, twisted.

They made bells of pure gold and attached the bells between the pomegranates all around the hem of the robe, between the pomegranates:

a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, all around the hem of the robe, for ministering, as Yahweh had commanded Moses.

They made the tunics of fine linen, the work of a weaver, for Aaron and his sons,

and the turban of fine linen, the linen headbands of the caps, and the linen undergarments of finely twisted linen,

and the sash of finely twisted linen and blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, the work of an embroiderer, as Yahweh had commanded Moses.

They made the plate, the holy diadem, of pure gold, and wrote on it an inscription engraved like a seal: “Holy to Yahweh.”

They attached a blue cord to it to fasten it to the turban above, as Yahweh had commanded Moses.

So all the work on the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, was completed. The Israelites did everything just as Yahweh had commanded Moses; that is what they did.

Then they brought the tabernacle to Moses: the tent and all its furnishings, its clasps, its frames, its crossbars, its posts, and its bases;

the covering of ram skins dyed red, the covering of fine leather, and the screening curtain;

the ark of the testimony with its poles and the mercy seat;

the table with all its utensils and the bread of the Presence;

the pure gold lampstand with its lamps, the lamps set in order, with all its utensils, and the oil for the light;

the gold altar, the anointing oil, the fragrant incense, and the screen for the entrance to the tent;

the bronze altar with its bronze grating, its poles, and all its utensils; the basin with its stand;

the hangings of the courtyard with its posts and bases, the screen for the gate of the courtyard, its ropes and tent pegs, and all the utensils for the service of the tabernacle, the tent of meeting;

and the woven garments for ministering in the holy place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments for his sons to serve as priests.

The Israelites had done all the work just as Yahweh had commanded Moses.

Moses inspected all the work, and they had done it just as Yahweh had commanded; that is what they had done. So Moses blessed them.
