Ezekiel 48

Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made

These are the names of the tribes: At the northern end, beside the road of Hethlon to Lebo-hamath, as far as Hazar-enan at the border of Damascus, with Hamath to the north, and extending from the east side to the west side, Dan will have one portion.

Next to the border of Dan, from the east side to the west side, Asher will have one portion.

Next to the border of Asher, from the east side to the west side, Naphtali will have one portion.

Next to the border of Naphtali, from the east side to the west side, Manasseh will have one portion.

Next to the border of Manasseh, from the east side to the west side, Ephraim will have one portion.

Next to the border of Ephraim, from the east side to the west side, Reuben will have one portion.

Next to the border of Reuben, from the east side to the west side, Judah will have one portion.

Next to the border of Judah, from the east side to the west side, will be the contribution you are to set apart. It will be twenty-five thousand wide, and its length will be the same as one of the tribal portions, from the east side to the west side, with the sanctuary in the middle of it.

The contribution you are to set apart for Yahweh will be twenty-five thousand long and ten thousand wide.

This will be the holy contribution for the priests: twenty-five thousand on the north side, ten thousand wide on the west side, ten thousand wide on the east side, and twenty-five thousand long on the south side. The sanctuary of Yahweh will be in the middle of it.

It will be for the consecrated priests, the sons of Zadok, who kept my charge and did not go astray when the Israelites went astray, as the Levites did.

It will be a special contribution for them from the contribution of the land, a most holy portion, next to the territory of the Levites.

Alongside the territory of the priests, the Levites will have an area twenty-five thousand long and ten thousand wide. The whole length will be twenty-five thousand, and the width ten thousand.

They must not sell any of it or exchange it, and this choicest part of the land must not pass to others, for it is holy to Yahweh.

The remaining area, five thousand wide and twenty-five thousand long, will be for the common use of the city, for houses and for open land. The city will be in the middle of it.

These will be its measurements: the north side 4,500, the south side 4,500, the east side 4,500, and the west side 4,500.

The city will have open land around it: 250 on the north, 250 on the south, 250 on the east, and 250 on the west.

The rest of the length alongside the holy contribution will be ten thousand on the east and ten thousand on the west. It will run alongside the holy contribution, and its produce will be food for the workers of the city.

The workers of the city, drawn from all the tribes of Israel, will farm it.

The whole contribution will be twenty-five thousand by twenty-five thousand. You are to set apart the holy contribution as a square, together with the possession of the city.

What remains on both sides of the holy contribution and the possession of the city will belong to the prince. It will extend from the twenty-five thousand of the contribution to the eastern border, and westward from the twenty-five thousand to the western border, alongside the tribal portions. It will belong to the prince, and the holy contribution, with the sanctuary of the temple, will be in the middle of it.

So the possession of the Levites and the possession of the city will lie in the middle of what belongs to the prince. The area between the border of Judah and the border of Benjamin will belong to the prince.

As for the rest of the tribes: from the east side to the west side, Benjamin will have one portion.

Next to the border of Benjamin, from the east side to the west side, Simeon will have one portion.

Next to the border of Simeon, from the east side to the west side, Issachar will have one portion.

Next to the border of Issachar, from the east side to the west side, Zebulun will have one portion.

Next to the border of Zebulun, from the east side to the west side, Gad will have one portion.

Next to the border of Gad, on the south side, the boundary will run from Tamar to the waters of Meribah-kadesh, then along the Wadi to the Great Sea.

This is the land that you are to allot as an inheritance to the tribes of Israel, and these will be their portions, declares Lord Yahweh.

These are the exits of the city: On the north side, which measures 4,500,

the gates of the city will be named after the tribes of Israel, three gates on the north: the gate of Reuben, the gate of Judah, and the gate of Levi.

On the east side, which measures 4,500, there will be three gates: the gate of Joseph, the gate of Benjamin, and the gate of Dan.

On the south side, which measures 4,500, there will be three gates: the gate of Simeon, the gate of Issachar, and the gate of Zebulun.

On the west side, which measures 4,500, there will be three gates: the gate of Gad, the gate of Asher, and the gate of Naphtali.

The distance all around will be eighteen thousand. And from that day on the name of the city will be ‘Yahweh Is There.’”
