Ezekiel 6
Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made
The word of Yahweh came to me:
“Son of man, turn your face toward the mountains of Israel and prophesy against them.
Say, ‘Mountains of Israel, hear the word of Lord Yahweh! This is what Lord Yahweh says to the mountains and the hills, to the ravines and the valleys: I myself am about to bring a sword against you, and I will destroy your high places.
Your altars will be made desolate, and your incense altars will be smashed. I will throw down your slain in front of your idols.
I will lay the corpses of the people of Israel in front of their idols, and I will scatter your bones around your altars.
Wherever you live, the cities will be laid waste and the high places made desolate, so that your altars will be laid waste and made desolate, your idols smashed and destroyed, your incense altars cut down, and your works wiped out.
The slain will fall among you, and you will know that I am Yahweh.
Yet I will leave some of you alive. Some of you will escape the sword among the nations when you are scattered through the countries.
Then those of you who escape will remember me among the nations where they have been taken captive, how I was crushed by their unfaithful hearts that turned away from me, and by their eyes that went lusting after their idols. They will loathe themselves for the evil they have done in all their abominations.
And they will know that I am Yahweh. I did not threaten in vain to bring this disaster on them.’
This is what Lord Yahweh says: Clap your hands, stamp your feet, and say, ‘Alas!’ because of all the evil abominations of the house of Israel, for they will fall by the sword, by famine, and by plague.
Those far away will die of plague, those nearby will fall by the sword, and those who are left and besieged will die of famine. So I will spend my wrath on them.
And you will know that I am Yahweh, when their slain lie among their idols around their altars, on every high hill, on all the mountaintops, under every green tree and under every leafy oak, the places where they offered soothing aromas to all their idols.
I will stretch out my hand against them and make the land a desolate waste, from the wilderness to Diblah, wherever they live. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”
