Isaiah 2
Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made
This is the word that Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
In the last days the mountain of Yahweh’s house will be established as the highest of the mountains and raised above the hills, and all the nations will stream to it.
Many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the house of the God of Jacob, so that he may teach us his ways and we may walk in his paths.” For instruction will go out from Zion, and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.
He will judge between the nations and settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, and they will not learn war anymore.
House of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of Yahweh!
For you have abandoned your people, the house of Jacob, because they are full of ways from the east and of fortune-tellers like the Philistines, and they clasp hands with the children of foreigners.
Their land is filled with silver and gold, and there is no end to their treasures; their land is filled with horses, and there is no end to their chariots.
Their land is filled with idols; they bow down to the work of their hands, to what their fingers have made.
So humankind is brought low, and each person is humbled—do not forgive them!
Go into the rock and hide in the dust from the terror of Yahweh and from the splendor of his majesty.
The proud eyes of humankind will be humbled, and human arrogance will be brought low; Yahweh alone will be exalted on that day.
For Yahweh of Armies has a day against all that is proud and lofty, against all that is lifted up—and it will be brought low—
against all the cedars of Lebanon, lofty and lifted up, and against all the oaks of Bashan,
against all the high mountains and against all the lofty hills,
against every high tower and against every fortified wall,
against all the ships of Tarshish and against all the beautiful vessels.
The pride of humankind will be humbled, and human arrogance will be brought low; Yahweh alone will be exalted on that day,
and the idols will vanish completely.
People will go into caves in the rocks and holes in the ground, away from the terror of Yahweh and the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to make the earth tremble.
On that day people will throw away their idols of silver and their idols of gold, which they made for themselves to worship, to the moles and the bats,
and go into the crevices of the rocks and the clefts of the cliffs, away from the terror of Yahweh and the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to make the earth tremble.
Stop relying on human beings, who have only breath in their nostrils. For what are they worth?
