Isaiah 54
Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made
Sing for joy, you barren woman who has not given birth; break out into song and shout aloud, you who have not been in labor! For the children of the desolate woman will be more than the children of the married woman, says Yahweh.
Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your dwellings be stretched out; do not hold back. Lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes.
For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your offspring will dispossess the nations and will settle the desolate cities.
Do not be afraid, for you will not be put to shame; do not be disgraced, for you will not be humiliated. For you will forget the shame of your youth, and you will no longer remember the disgrace of your widowhood.
For your Maker is your husband—Yahweh of Armies is his name—and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.
For Yahweh has called you like a wife deserted and grieved in spirit, like the wife of one’s youth when she is rejected, says your God.
For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with great compassion I will gather you.
In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting steadfast love I will have compassion on you, says Yahweh your Redeemer.
For this is like the waters of Noah to me: as I swore that the waters of Noah would never again pass over the earth, so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you or rebuke you.
For the mountains may depart and the hills be shaken, but my steadfast love will not depart from you, and my covenant of peace will not be shaken, says Yahweh, who has compassion on you.
O afflicted one, storm-tossed and not comforted, see, I will set your stones in dark mortar and lay your foundations with sapphires.
I will make your battlements of rubies, your gates of sparkling jewels, and all your walls of precious stones.
All your children will be taught by Yahweh, and great will be the peace of your children.
In righteousness you will be established. You will be far from oppression, for you will not fear, and from terror, for it will not come near you.
If anyone stirs up strife, it is not from me; whoever stirs up strife with you will fall because of you.
See, I have created the smith who blows on the coals in the fire and produces a weapon fit for its work; and I have created the destroyer to bring ruin.
No weapon formed against you will succeed, and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the inheritance of the servants of Yahweh, and their righteousness is from me, declares Yahweh.
