Leviticus 12
Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made
Yahweh spoke to Moses:
“Speak to the Israelites: When a woman becomes pregnant and gives birth to a son, she will be unclean for seven days, just as she is unclean during the days of her menstrual impurity.
On the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin is to be circumcised.
Then she is to remain for thirty-three days in the blood of her purification. She must not touch anything holy or come into the sanctuary until the days of her purification are completed.
If she gives birth to a daughter, she will be unclean for two weeks, as during her menstrual impurity, and she is to remain for sixty-six days in the blood of her purification.
When the days of her purification are completed, whether for a son or for a daughter, she is to bring to the priest at the entrance of the tent of meeting a lamb a year old for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon or a turtledove for a sin offering.
He is to offer it before Yahweh and make atonement for her, and she will be clean from her flow of blood. This is the law for a woman who gives birth, whether to a boy or to a girl.
If she cannot afford a lamb, she is to take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, one for a burnt offering and one for a sin offering. So the priest will make atonement for her, and she will be clean.”
