Leviticus 26

Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made

Do not make idols for yourselves, and do not set up a carved image or a sacred pillar for yourselves. Do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down to it, for I am Yahweh your God.

Keep my Sabbaths and revere my sanctuary. I am Yahweh.

If you follow my statutes and keep my commandments and do them,

I will give you your rains in their season, the land will yield its crops, and the trees of the field will yield their fruit.

Your threshing will last until the grape harvest, and the grape harvest will last until sowing time. You will eat your fill of food and live securely in your land.

I will grant peace in the land, and you will lie down with no one to make you afraid. I will rid the land of dangerous animals, and no sword will pass through your land.

You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall before you by the sword.

Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand; your enemies will fall before you by the sword.

I will turn toward you and make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will confirm my covenant with you.

You will still be eating last year’s harvest, long stored, when you have to clear out the old to make room for the new.

I will put my dwelling place among you, and I will not abhor you.

I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people.

I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so that you would no longer be their slaves. I broke the bars of your yoke and made you walk upright.

But if you will not listen to me and do not carry out all these commandments,

if you reject my statutes and abhor my ordinances, so that you do not carry out all my commandments and you break my covenant,

then I in turn will do this to you: I will bring sudden terror on you, wasting disease and fever that make the eyes fail and the life drain away. You will sow your seed for nothing, because your enemies will eat it.

I will set my face against you, and you will be struck down before your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee when no one is pursuing you.

If even after all this you will not listen to me, I will discipline you seven times more for your sins.

I will break your proud strength, and I will make your sky like iron and your ground like bronze.

Your strength will be spent for nothing, for your land will not yield its crops, and the trees of the land will not yield their fruit.

If you walk in hostility toward me and refuse to listen to me, I will strike you seven times more, as your sins deserve.

I will send wild animals among you, and they will rob you of your children, destroy your livestock, and make you few in number, so that your roads will be deserted.

If in spite of these things you do not accept my discipline, but walk in hostility toward me,

then I myself will walk in hostility toward you, and I myself will strike you seven times over for your sins.

I will bring a sword on you that will carry out the vengeance of the covenant. When you gather in your cities, I will send a plague among you, and you will be handed over to the enemy.

When I cut off your supply of bread, ten women will bake your bread in a single oven and dole out your bread by weight. You will eat, but you will not be satisfied.

If in spite of this you still do not listen to me, but walk in hostility toward me,

then I will walk in furious hostility toward you, and I myself will discipline you seven times over for your sins.

You will eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters you will eat.

I will destroy your high places and cut down your incense altars. I will heap your corpses on the corpses of your idols, and I will abhor you.

I will turn your cities into ruins and make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will not smell your pleasing aromas.

I myself will make the land desolate, so that your enemies who come to live in it will be appalled at it.

I will scatter you among the nations and draw the sword to pursue you. Your land will become desolate, and your cities will become ruins.

Then the land will enjoy its Sabbaths all the days it lies desolate, while you are in the land of your enemies. Then the land will rest and enjoy its Sabbaths.

All the days it lies desolate it will have rest, the rest it did not have during your Sabbaths when you lived in it.

As for those of you who are left, I will bring such fear into their hearts in the lands of their enemies that the sound of a windblown leaf will put them to flight. They will flee as one flees from the sword, and they will fall though no one is pursuing them.

They will stumble over one another as if fleeing from the sword, though no one is pursuing. You will have no power to stand before your enemies.

You will perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies will devour you.

Those of you who are left will waste away in the lands of your enemies because of their iniquity; and because of the iniquities of their ancestors, too, they will waste away with them.

But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their ancestors—the unfaithfulness they committed against me, and also their walking in hostility toward me,

so that I in turn walked in hostility toward them and brought them into the land of their enemies—if then their uncircumcised heart is humbled and they pay for their iniquity,

then I will remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.

For the land will be abandoned by them and will enjoy its Sabbaths while it lies desolate without them, while they pay for their iniquity, because they rejected my ordinances and abhorred my statutes.

Yet in spite of all this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them or abhor them so as to destroy them completely and break my covenant with them, for I am Yahweh their God.

For their sake I will remember the covenant with their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations to be their God. I am Yahweh.”

These are the statutes, the ordinances, and the laws that Yahweh established between himself and the Israelites on Mount Sinai through Moses.
