Yahweh spoke to Moses:
“Speak to the Israelites and say to them: These are Yahweh’s appointed festivals, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies. These are my appointed festivals.
Work may be done for six days, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, a sacred assembly. You must not do any work; it is a Sabbath to Yahweh wherever you live.
These are Yahweh’s appointed festivals, the sacred assemblies that you are to proclaim at their appointed times.
In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at twilight, is Yahweh’s Passover.
On the fifteenth day of that month is Yahweh’s Festival of Unleavened Bread; for seven days you must eat unleavened bread.
On the first day you are to hold a sacred assembly; do not do any regular work.
For seven days you are to present a fire offering to Yahweh. On the seventh day there is a sacred assembly; do not do any regular work.”
Yahweh spoke to Moses:
“Speak to the Israelites and say to them: When you come into the land that I am giving you and reap its harvest, you are to bring to the priest a sheaf of the first of your harvest.
He is to wave the sheaf before Yahweh so that it will be accepted on your behalf; the priest is to wave it on the day after the Sabbath.
On the day you wave the sheaf, you are to offer a year-old male lamb without defect as a burnt offering to Yahweh,
with its grain offering of two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, a fire offering to Yahweh, a pleasing aroma, and its drink offering of a quarter of a hin of wine.
Do not eat any bread or roasted grain or fresh grain until this very day, until you have brought the offering of your God. This is a permanent statute throughout your generations, wherever you live.
From the day after the Sabbath, the day you bring the sheaf of the wave offering, count off seven full weeks.
Count fifty days, up to the day after the seventh Sabbath, and then present an offering of new grain to Yahweh.
From wherever you live, bring two loaves of bread as a wave offering, made of two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour and baked with yeast, as firstfruits to Yahweh.
Along with the bread, present seven male lambs a year old and without defect, one young bull, and two rams. They are to be a burnt offering to Yahweh, with their grain offerings and their drink offerings, a fire offering, a pleasing aroma to Yahweh.
Offer one male goat as a sin offering and two male lambs a year old as a sacrifice of fellowship offerings.
The priest is to wave them, along with the bread of the firstfruits, as a wave offering before Yahweh, together with the two lambs. They are to be holy to Yahweh, for the priest.
On this very day you are to make a proclamation and hold a sacred assembly. Do not do any regular work. This is a permanent statute wherever you live, throughout your generations.
When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap all the way to the edges of your field, and do not gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am Yahweh your God.”
Yahweh spoke to Moses:
“Speak to the Israelites: In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you are to have a day of complete rest, a memorial announced with loud blasts, a sacred assembly.
Do not do any regular work, and present a fire offering to Yahweh.”
Yahweh spoke to Moses:
“Now the tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. You are to hold a sacred assembly and humble yourselves, and present a fire offering to Yahweh.
Do not do any work on this very day, for it is a day of atonement, to make atonement for you before Yahweh your God.
Anyone who does not humble themselves on this very day must be cut off from their people.
And anyone who does any work on this very day—I will destroy that person from among their people.
You must not do any work. This is a permanent statute throughout your generations, wherever you live.
It is a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you must humble yourselves. On the ninth day of the month in the evening, from evening to evening, you are to keep your Sabbath.”
Yahweh spoke to Moses:
“Speak to the Israelites: On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is Yahweh’s Festival of Booths, for seven days.
On the first day there is a sacred assembly; do not do any regular work.
For seven days you are to present a fire offering to Yahweh. On the eighth day you are to hold a sacred assembly and present a fire offering to Yahweh. It is a solemn assembly; do not do any regular work.
These are Yahweh’s appointed festivals, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies for presenting fire offerings to Yahweh—burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, each on its own day—
besides Yahweh’s Sabbaths, and besides your gifts, all your vows, and all your freewill offerings that you give to Yahweh.
Now on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the produce of the land, you are to celebrate Yahweh’s festival for seven days. The first day is a day of complete rest, and the eighth day is a day of complete rest.
On the first day you are to take for yourselves the fruit of splendid trees, palm fronds, branches of leafy trees, and willows from the stream, and you are to rejoice before Yahweh your God for seven days.
Celebrate it as a festival to Yahweh for seven days each year. This is a permanent statute throughout your generations; celebrate it in the seventh month.
Live in booths for seven days. All the native-born in Israel are to live in booths,
so that your generations will know that I had the Israelites live in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.”
So Moses announced the appointed festivals of Yahweh to the Israelites.
