Leviticus 24

Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made

Yahweh spoke to Moses:

“Command the Israelites to bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, so that the lamp may be kept burning continually.

Outside the curtain of the testimony in the tent of meeting, Aaron is to keep it in order before Yahweh from evening until morning, continually. This is a permanent statute throughout your generations.

He is to keep the lamps in order on the pure lampstand before Yahweh continually.

Take fine flour and bake twelve loaves with it, using two-tenths of an ephah for each loaf.

Set them in two rows, six to a row, on the pure table before Yahweh.

Put pure frankincense on each row, to be a memorial portion for the bread, a fire offering to Yahweh.

Every Sabbath day he is to set it out before Yahweh continually, on behalf of the Israelites, as an everlasting covenant.

It belongs to Aaron and his sons, and they are to eat it in a holy place, for it is a most holy portion for him from Yahweh’s fire offerings, a permanent share.”

Now the son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the Israelites, and a fight broke out in the camp between the Israelite woman’s son and an Israelite man.

The Israelite woman’s son blasphemed the Name and cursed, so they brought him to Moses. His mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.

They put him in custody until the will of Yahweh should be made clear to them.

Then Yahweh spoke to Moses:

“Take the one who cursed outside the camp. All who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the whole congregation is to stone him.

Then say to the Israelites: Anyone who curses their God will bear their sin.

Whoever blasphemes the name of Yahweh must be put to death; the whole congregation must stone that person. Foreigner or native-born, whoever blasphemes the Name must be put to death.

Anyone who takes a human life must be put to death.

Whoever takes an animal’s life must make restitution for it, life for life.

If anyone injures their neighbor, what they have done must be done to them:

fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. The injury they have inflicted on another person must be inflicted on them.

Whoever kills an animal must make restitution for it, but whoever kills a human being must be put to death.

You are to have one and the same rule for the foreigner and the native-born, for I am Yahweh your God.”

Then Moses spoke to the Israelites, and they took the one who had cursed outside the camp and stoned him. The Israelites did as Yahweh had commanded Moses.
