Leviticus 20
Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made
Yahweh spoke to Moses:
“Say to the Israelites: Anyone among the Israelites, or among the foreigners who live in Israel, who gives any of his children to Molech must be put to death. The people of the land are to stone him.
I myself will set my face against that man and cut him off from among his people, because he has given some of his children to Molech, and so defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.
If the people of the land ever close their eyes to that man when he gives any of his children to Molech, and do not put him to death,
then I myself will set my face against that man and his family, and I will cut off from among their people both him and all who follow him in prostituting themselves with Molech.
If a person turns to mediums and spiritists, prostituting themselves by following them, I will set my face against that person and cut them off from among their people.
Consecrate yourselves and be holy, for I am Yahweh your God.
Keep my statutes and do them. I am Yahweh, who sanctifies you.
If anyone curses their father or their mother, they must be put to death. They have cursed their father or their mother; their blood is on their own head.
If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife—commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife—both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.
If a man lies with his father’s wife, he has uncovered his father’s nakedness. Both of them must be put to death; their blood is on their own heads.
If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them must be put to death. They have committed a perversion; their blood is on their own heads.
If a man lies with a male as one lies with a woman, both of them have done something detestable. They must be put to death; their blood is on their own heads.
If a man marries a woman and her mother, it is depravity. He and both women must be burned in the fire, so that there will be no depravity among you.
If a man lies with an animal, he must be put to death, and you must kill the animal.
If a woman approaches any animal to mate with it, you must kill both the woman and the animal. They must be put to death; their blood is on their own heads.
If a man takes his sister, his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter, and he sees her nakedness and she sees his nakedness, it is a disgrace. They must be cut off in the sight of their people. He has uncovered his sister’s nakedness; he will bear his guilt.
If a man lies with a woman during her menstrual period and uncovers her nakedness, he has laid bare the source of her flow, and she has uncovered the source of her blood. Both of them must be cut off from among their people.
Do not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister or your father’s sister, for that is to lay bare one’s own close relative; they will bear their guilt.
If a man lies with his uncle’s wife, he has uncovered his uncle’s nakedness. They will bear their sin; they will die childless.
If a man takes his brother’s wife, it is impurity. He has uncovered his brother’s nakedness; they will be childless.
Keep all my statutes and all my ordinances, and do them, so that the land where I am bringing you to live will not vomit you out.
Do not follow the statutes of the nation I am driving out before you, for they did all these things, and I loathed them.
But I have said to you, ‘You will possess their land; I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey.’ I am Yahweh your God, who has set you apart from the peoples.
So you must distinguish between clean and unclean animals, and between unclean and clean birds. Do not make yourselves detestable by any animal or bird or anything that creeps on the ground, which I have set apart for you as unclean.
You are to be holy to me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and I have set you apart from the peoples to be mine.
A man or a woman who is a medium or a spiritist must be put to death. They are to be stoned; their blood is on their own heads.”
