Leviticus 19

Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made

Yahweh spoke to Moses:

“Speak to all the community of Israel and tell them: You must be holy, for I, Yahweh your God, am holy.

Each of you is to treat your mother and your father with reverence, and you must keep my Sabbaths. I am Yahweh your God.

Do not turn aside to worthless gods, and do not fashion cast-metal gods for yourselves. I am Yahweh your God.

When you sacrifice a fellowship offering to Yahweh, sacrifice it in a way that will win acceptance for you.

It may be eaten on the day of your sacrifice or on the day after, but whatever is still left on the third day must be burned in the fire.

Should any of it be eaten on the third day, it is spoiled meat and will not be accepted.

Anyone who eats it will carry their iniquity, because they have profaned Yahweh’s holy things; that person is to be cut off from their people.

When you harvest the crops of your land, do not cut all the way to the edge of your field, and do not gather what is left after your harvest.

Do not pick your vineyard clean, and do not gather the grapes that drop in your vineyard; leave them behind for the poor and the foreigner. I am Yahweh your God.

Do not steal. Do not deceive. Do not lie to one another.

Do not take a false oath in my name, which would profane the name of your God. I am Yahweh.

Do not oppress your neighbor, and do not commit robbery. A hired worker’s pay must not stay with you through the night until morning.

Do not curse a deaf person or lay something in front of a blind person to trip them; you are to fear your God. I am Yahweh.

Do not act unjustly when judging: do not be partial toward the poor, and do not defer to the mighty; judge your neighbor rightly.

Do not move among your people as a slanderer. Do not stand idly by when your neighbor’s life is in danger. I am Yahweh.

Do not hate your brother in your heart. Be sure to reprove your neighbor, so that you do not take on sin because of him.

Do not take revenge on your own people or nurse a grudge against them; love your neighbor as yourself. I am Yahweh.

Keep my statutes. Do not crossbreed your animals with another kind. Do not plant your field with mixed seed. Do not wear clothing made from two kinds of fabric woven together.

If a man has sexual relations with a woman who is a slave engaged to another man, and she has not been redeemed or set free, a penalty is to be imposed. But they are not to be put to death, since she was not a free woman.

He must bring his guilt offering for Yahweh to the entrance of the tent of meeting: a ram for a guilt offering.

The priest will make atonement for him before Yahweh with the guilt-offering ram, for the sin he committed, and the sin he committed will be forgiven him.

When you enter the land and plant any tree for food, treat its fruit as uncircumcised. For three years it will be uncircumcised for you; none of it may be eaten.

In the fourth year all its fruit will be holy, given in praise to Yahweh.

Then in the fifth year you may eat its fruit, and so its produce will grow greater for you. I am Yahweh your God.

Do not eat anything with its blood still in it. Do not look for omens or tell fortunes.

Do not shave around the sides of your head, and do not destroy the corners of your beard.

Do not gash your flesh on behalf of the dead, and do not mark yourselves with tattoos. I am Yahweh.

Do not dishonor your daughter by turning her into a prostitute, or the land will be given over to prostitution and filled with lewdness.

Keep my Sabbaths and revere my sanctuary. I am Yahweh.

Do not turn to mediums, and do not go looking for spiritists and so become unclean through them. I am Yahweh your God.

Rise before someone with gray hair, and honor the old. Fear your God. I am Yahweh.

If a foreigner settles with you in your land, do not wrong them.

The foreigner staying with you is to be like a native-born citizen among you; love them as yourself, because you were foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.

Do not act unjustly when judging, or in measuring length, weight, or quantity.

Keep just balances, just weight stones, a just ephah, and a just hin. I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.

Keep all my statutes and all my ordinances and carry them out. I am Yahweh.”
