Psalm 107

Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made

Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good; his steadfast love endures forever.

Let the redeemed of Yahweh say so, those he redeemed from the hand of the foe

and gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south.

Some wandered in the wilderness, on a desert road; they found no city to live in.

Hungry and thirsty, their lives ebbed away within them.

Then they cried out to Yahweh in their trouble, and he rescued them from their distress.

He led them by a straight road to a city where they could live.

Let them give thanks to Yahweh for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works for the human race.

For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

Some sat in darkness and the shadow of death, prisoners in misery and iron chains,

because they had rebelled against the words of God and despised the counsel of the Most High.

So he humbled their hearts with hard labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help.

Then they cried out to Yahweh in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death and tore their chains apart.

Let them give thanks to Yahweh for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works for the human race.

For he has shattered the doors of bronze and cut through the bars of iron.

Some were fools because of their rebellious ways, and they suffered for their iniquities.

They loathed every kind of food, and they drew near to the gates of death.

Then they cried out to Yahweh in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.

He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from their graves.

Let them give thanks to Yahweh for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works for the human race.

Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and tell of his works with songs of joy.

Some went down to the sea in ships, doing business on the great waters.

They saw the works of Yahweh, his wonders in the deep.

He spoke and raised up a stormy wind, which lifted high the waves.

They rose up to the heavens and went down to the depths; their courage melted away in their peril.

They reeled and staggered like drunkards, and all their skill was swallowed up.

Then they cried out to Yahweh in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress.

He calmed the storm to a whisper, and their waves were hushed.

They were glad when the waters grew quiet, and he guided them to the harbor they longed for.

Let them give thanks to Yahweh for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works for the human race.

Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the council of the elders.

He turns rivers into a desert, springs of water into thirsty ground,

a fruitful land into a salty waste, because of the wickedness of those who live there.

He turns a desert into pools of water, a parched land into springs of water.

There he lets the hungry settle, and they build a city to live in.

They sow fields and plant vineyards, and they gather a fruitful harvest.

He blesses them, and they multiply greatly; he does not let their cattle decrease.

Then they dwindle and are brought low through oppression, trouble, and sorrow.

He pours contempt on nobles and makes them wander in a trackless waste,

but he lifts the needy out of their misery and makes their families like flocks.

The upright see it and rejoice, and all wickedness shuts its mouth.

Let whoever is wise heed these things and consider the steadfast love of Yahweh.
