Psalm 41
Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made
For the choir director. A psalm of David.
Blessed is the one who considers the poor; in the day of trouble Yahweh will rescue him.
Yahweh will guard him and keep him alive; he will be called blessed in the land. Do not hand him over to the will of his enemies.
Yahweh will sustain him on his sickbed; in his illness you will restore him from where he lies.
As for me, I said, “Yahweh, be gracious to me; heal me, for I have sinned against you.”
My enemies speak evil of me: “When will he die and his name perish?”
When one comes to see me, he speaks empty words, while his heart gathers up wickedness; he goes out and tells it around.
All who hate me whisper together against me; they plot evil against me:
“Something vile has been poured into him; now that he lies down, he will not rise again.”
Even my close friend, whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.
But you, Yahweh, be gracious to me and raise me up, so that I may repay them.
By this I know that you delight in me: my enemy does not shout in triumph over me.
As for me, you have upheld me in my integrity and set me in your presence forever.
Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and amen.
