Psalm 5

Lumin Translation 2.0 checked against the Hebrew and Greek How it was made

For the choir director. For flutes. A psalm of David.

Listen to my words, Yahweh; consider my sighing.

Pay attention to the sound of my cry for help, my King and my God, for I pray to you.

Yahweh, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.

For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil cannot live with you.

The arrogant cannot stand in your sight; you hate all who do wrong.

You destroy those who tell lies; Yahweh detests the bloodthirsty and the deceitful.

But I, by the greatness of your steadfast love, will enter your house; I will bow down toward your holy temple in awe of you.

Yahweh, lead me in your righteousness because of my enemies; make your way straight before me.

For nothing they say can be trusted; their inner being is destruction. Their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongues.

Declare them guilty, God; let them fall by their own schemes. Drive them out for their many transgressions, for they have rebelled against you.

But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing for joy forever. Spread your protection over them, so that those who love your name may exult in you.

For you bless the righteous, Yahweh; you surround them with favor as with a shield.
